Incident Analyst (full time or student program)

Your Work

  • Work together with the Incident Response Team at ERNW Research on Incident Analysis, Incident Response, Malware Analysis, and Forensics Projects with the opportunity to bring in and develop your own ideas
  • Depending on your profile and preferences, a broad working spectrum in a mix with consulting, training, and security assessment projects is possible
  • Cooperation in different, interesting and challenging customer projects and environments

Your Profile

  • Computer Science-related degree program (e.g. IT Security or Computer Science) or student in this area.
  • At least basic experience in incident response, in particular in some of these areas: File System forensics, Malware analysis (Static and/or dynamic), Memory forensics, Network forensics, Windows analysis tools, Log analysis
  • Motivated, ambitious, and able to work independently. Eager to dig deeper into technical topic(s). Strong ambition and passion for the topic can make up for lack of experience.
  • Experience building little to larger scripts (python, shell, powershell) to enhance the investigation process.
  • Experience with Pentesting Tools and hacking techniques. At least basic understanding of exploitation methodologies.
  • A team player with strong communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of spoken and written English

Desired Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in the above mentioned incident response topics.
  • Experience with specific tools, such as Velociraptor, EnCase, X-Ways, VMRay, Joe Sandbox, Cuckoo and others.
  • Knowledge about common attacker tactics and techniques.
  • Profound understanding of Windows internals.
  • Profound understanding and pracical experience with exploitation methodologies.
